China has issued an industrial policy to encourage the production of biodiesel from "waste oil"

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 23 (Reporter Chen Weiwei) The National Energy Administration recently issued the "Policy for the Development of Biodiesel Industry", proposing to establish a sustainable raw material supply system with waste oil as the main part and wood (grass) non-edible oil as the supplement, standardize the production, popularization and application of biodiesel, and build the main channel for the resource utilization of "waste oil".

Biodiesel refers to liquid fuel for transportation produced from oily raw materials, such as waste animal and vegetable oils, non-edible herbs or woody oils, which is conducive to reducing the emission of pollutants from diesel engine exhaust. Developing biodiesel industry is also one of the important ways to solve the problem of "gutter oil" returning to the table.

This industrial policy proposes to encourage the promotion and use of biodiesel in key areas of air pollution prevention and control such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta; Vigorously publicize the important role of biodiesel in solving the problem of "gutter oil" returning to the table and controlling atmospheric smog, and create a good consumption environment; Encourage public transport, sanitation and other government-managed vehicles to give priority to the use of biodiesel blended fuel.

To this end, this industrial policy clearly requires tax policy support for biodiesel in accordance with state regulations; For biodiesel with the proportion of waste oil consumption in production raw materials meeting the specified requirements, enjoy the comprehensive utilization of resources products and other relevant preferential policies for value-added tax and consumption tax; Study and introduce tax incentives or other incentive policies for blending motor diesel.
