Today we will talk about how to replace the air filter and air conditioner filter.

Prepare materials: Pay attention to the air filter and air conditioning filter purchased, which must match your car model, otherwise it will not be installed!

Installation method of air filter element

First, drive the car to a clean and flat site, open the hood to see where the air filter is. Generally, there is a big black plastic box in front of the driver’s side, which is the air filter box.

Second, find a screwdriver to remove the screws of the air filter box in turn and put them in the proper place. Be careful not to drop them in the engine compartment, otherwise it will be difficult to take them. Some boxes are designed without screws, and they are usually buckled, so just move them directly. Open the lid of the box, and you will see a white or orange wrinkled thing, which is an air filter. Write down its installation direction and take it off.

Third, tear open the packaging of the new air filter and put it in according to the installation direction just noted. Be careful not to turn the front and back upside down. Generally, the plane is up and the folded face is down. Adjust the gap between the air filter and the box so that there is no gap, or it will leak in. When it’s done, cover it and tighten the screws.

Installation method of air conditioning filter element:

First, the air conditioning filter of most cars is in the glove box of the co-pilot. Let’s take this as an example today. Sit in the passenger seat, set the seat to the back, open the glove box, and take out all your personal belongings and put them on the other side.

Second, observe the movable pull rods fixed on both sides of the glove box. Generally, the right side is semi-fixed on the center console. Hold the ring of the fixed rod with a screwdriver, and don’t use too much force. When you hear a click, take the fixed ring off the fixed pin. Press the glove box to the lowest level to see if there is a black plastic box inside the center console. Generally, that is the air conditioning filter box.

Third, after finding the air-conditioning filter box, see if there is a rectangular baffle on it, that is, the air-conditioning filter baffle. If there is a screw, just use a screwdriver to directly break the buckle and drag it out. Write down the installation direction and front and back of the old filter element and take it out. Put the new filter element in the right direction, clamp the air conditioning filter cover plate and install the glove box. Over!

Start the car inspection after installation:

Don’t cover the engine compartment, start the car, hit the accelerator a few times, listen to the engine compartment for abnormal noise, and if so, continue to check. Turn on the air conditioner, turn on the internal circulation and smell whether the smell inside the car is fresh and normal. Just check that everything is all right.

The advantage of replacing spare parts by yourself is that you can improve your understanding of your car, and the accessories in online shopping or retail stores are cheaper than those in 4S stores, which can reduce the cost of car use.
