Speeding up the construction of green data center to ensure the sustainability of resources and environment
CCTV News:Six departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce, released the list of national green data centers in 2022 at the 2023 data center green development conference held in Chengdu on May 11th.
The 43 national green data centers released this time involve the fields of communication, Internet, public institutions, energy and finance. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will promote the green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of the whole industry of data centers in a scientific and orderly manner, and continue to build a national green data center demonstration benchmark, speed up the popularization and application of energy-saving technology and equipment, and improve the standard system of energy-saving and carbon reduction in green data centers.
Cao Xueqin, Deputy Secretary General of China Institute of Electronics:The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce, has successively selected and released four batches of 196 national green data centers, which have achieved positive results in energy saving, water saving and green transformation of energy utilization.
It is understood that the green data center evaluates the green development level of the data center from 15 indicators in four aspects: efficient use of energy, green and low-carbon development, scientific layout and intensive construction, and efficient use of computing resources. According to the 14th Five-Year Plan for Information and Communication Industry, by 2025, the computing power of national data centers will reach 3.3 times that of 2020. Accelerating the construction of a green data center has become a basic requirement for ensuring the sustainability of resources and environment.
