The Furong Coal Mine Rescue Team, which is closest to the coal mine, organized 30 people to be divided into 4 groups to go down the well for rescue. Within a few hours after the accident, the Sichuan Provincial Emergency Management Department dispatched 11 rescue teams and 192 people to the rescue.
Drainage, ventilation, dredging, search and rescue … … The underground environment of Cunninghamia lanceolata Coal Mine is complex, and the sudden seepage accident increases the complexity of underground geological and hydrological conditions, and the serious damage of power supply, drainage and ventilation systems also increases the difficulty of rescue.
The water level is still rising. At 11 o’clock on the 15th, the rescue team started to drain water by using drainage equipment with rated flow of 220 cubic meters per hour. However, through observation, the water level still rises by 445 mm per hour. Until 13: 00 on the 16th, the water level reached a maximum of 138.71 meters.
The situation is urgent and drainage must be accelerated. After careful analysis of the site situation, a larger pump was transported to the site and put into use quickly, and the water level began to decline. While draining water, it is also necessary to ensure the oxygen supply of the trapped miners. Rescuers used pipelines to transport compressed air to the trapped miners’ area. After the water level drops to a certain height, gas is pumped out again.
The situation gradually became clear. At 8 o’clock in the morning on December 17, the water level dropped to 124 meters, and rescue conditions began to be available. At 12 noon on the 17th, the first batch of medical staff began to go down the well. At 9: 30 pm on the 17th, nearly 50 members of a large rescue team officially went down the well.
As the water level dropped, rescuers got in touch with the trapped miners by knocking on the pipeline. This is a string of "notes of life". Gou Zhong, executive deputy head of the National Mine Emergency Rescue Furong Team and the person in charge of on-site rescue, said that the rescuers knocked 13 times and responded 13 times.
