Who are the manufacturers who have made great contributions to the pure electric market share? In the pure electric vehicle market in China from January to August, BAIC New Energy, BYD and Chery Automobile were the top three enterprises in terms of sales volume. In addition, Jianghuai, Jiangling, Geely and SAIC have sales of pure electric vehicles of more than 20,000 vehicles.
It can also be seen from the proportion of power types of various enterprises that BAIC New Energy, Jianghuai, Jiangling and other enterprises have always adhered to the pure electric technology route, and their new energy sales are all pure electric vehicles. BYD, SAIC and Geely pay equal attention to various technical routes such as pure electricity and plug-in hybrid, especially BYD and SAIC’s own plug-in hybrid models have the upper hand.
The sales trend of micro-electric vehicles is weakening, and compact electric vehicles are strengthening.
In terms of specific models, Beiqi EC series, Chery eQ series and JAC iEV series rank first, second and third in the pure electric vehicle market. In addition to the top three mini-electric vehicles, Jiangling E200 and Zotye E200 also ranked fifth and tenth with cumulative sales of 20,571 and 11,284 vehicles respectively. However, after June, the sales volume of micro-electric vehicles declined to varying degrees. Here, we should introduce a policy background: after the transition period ended on June 12, according to the new subsidy policy in 2018, the vehicles with a cruising range of less than 150km will no longer enjoy state subsidies, and the subsidies for low-cruising vehicles will drop significantly. Miniature electric vehicles with short battery life have been "recruited" and their sales have been greatly reduced.
Therefore, in the first half of 2018, there was an obvious "dumping" of micro-electric vehicle products. After June, the sales volume declined to varying degrees. Since July, with the upgrading of micro-electric vehicle products, the sales volume has gradually returned to the market, and the most representative is the sales trend of Beiqi EC series.
Because micro-electric vehicles can meet the needs of consumers, time-sharing and so on, and have high cost performance, micro-electric vehicles have grown with the new energy vehicle market. In the sales list of pure electric passenger cars in 2017, micro-electric vehicles occupied seven seats. In the sales list from January to August in 2018, although the number of micro-electric vehicles has decreased and supported half of the country, the market prospect is not optimistic. On the one hand, micro-electric vehicles can’t meet people’s requirements for long battery life, and it is also difficult to meet the requirements of technological upgrading of new energy subsidies. Although there is a certain demand for time-sharing lease, it can be predicted that the market share of micro-electric vehicles will continue to decline. Some insiders said that micro-electric vehicles will eventually decline to 30% of the market share of pure electric vehicles, as high as 70% in 2017. The situation will become history.
At the same time, the sales of compact electric vehicles are constantly strengthening. As far as August is concerned, in contrast to the decline of 20% in micro electric vehicles, compact electric vehicles increased by 105% year-on-year in August, and 23,332 vehicles were sold in that month, accounting for 40% of the market share of pure electric passenger cars, becoming the largest market segment. Judging from the cumulative sales in August, the growth trend is also very obvious. The number of compact electric vehicles increased by more than 100% with 109,600 units.
In the sales list of pure electric passenger cars from January to August this year, four compact electric vehicles entered the list, among which BYD e5 ranked fourth with 23,681 vehicles, Geely Emgrand EV ranked sixth with 18,446 vehicles, Roewe Ei5 ranked eighth with a cumulative sales of 16,666 vehicles, and Beiqi EU series ranked ninth with a cumulative sales of 13,041 vehicles.
Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Xiamen and other cities are pure electric fans.
Which cities prefer pure electric vehicles? According to the statistics of the Federation, in addition to Beijing, the proportion of pure electric vehicles purchased by Zhengzhou, Weifang, Liuzhou, Changsha, Xiamen, Hefei and other cities is as high as over 90%.
